The school year is just getting started and we are already gearing up for Homecoming!! The Student Council has been very busy preparing for this annual event to celebrate our Rebel school spirit. We invite all families, community members, businesses, and alumni to join our student body the week of September 9 through 15.
We kick off the week with Powderpuff football on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the MCC football field. You won’t want to miss this!! The girls are pumped and ready! This is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available.
Coronation takes place on TUESDAY (due to the home volleyball game on Monday), Sept. 12 at 8:00 in the high school auditorium. Admission is one dollar. The other events for the week include Float Building, Dodgeball, Iron Man Volleyball, Softball, Class Wars, and on Friday we have the Pepfest, Parade, Football game vs. the Sleepy Eye Indians, followed by the bonfire/dance for students in grades 7-12 at the softball complex.
The dress up days for the week are: Monday—America Day, Tuesday—Star Wars Day, Wednesday—Severe Weather Day: we will be taking up a collection for the victims of Hurricane Harvey, Thursday—Class Colors Day, and Friday—Spirit Day. Daily prizes will be given at the high school for people who dress up. We also have Homecoming buttons, which are numbered for daily prize drawings at the high school. A special thanks goes out to all the local businesses, organizations, and individuals who have donated prizes for our Homecoming Week. There is still time to donate, just contact the high school office.
You can view the complete Homecoming schedule of events on the MCC website at www.mcc.mntm.org. We encourage the entire community to come out and support our Volleyball, Cross Country, and Football teams! Thanks to the MCC Cheerleaders for cheering them on! Have a wonderful Homecoming Week! Go Rebels!!
